Rose Theatre Brings Classic Movies Back to Bastrop - Movies have returned to the Rose Theatre in Bastrop as they have become the second single screen theatre in northeast La region to return to their roots in motion pictures.  Classic movies are being shown each month  Gone With the Wind, Dirty Dancing, The Good Bad and Ugly and Top Gun are scheduled to be shown.  Please review the April, May, June and July Chamber Event Calendar for dates and times.

Keep Morehouse Beautiful will be hosting their 2nd Boatin' on the Bayou on May 4, 2013 beginning at Chemin-A-Haut State Park in Bastrop. Food will be provided by the Dutch Oven Society. Contact the Chamber of Commerce or Chemin-A-Haut for more information.

The Snyder Museum is hosting the School of Visual and Performing Arts from the University of Louisiana at Monroe for an exhibit May 9 through 31st.  The exhibit will consist of student printmaking and a silk screen exhibition.  An opening reception will be held May 9 from 5 to 7 p.m.  Everyone is invited.  The Snyder Museum is located at 1620 E. Madison in Bastrop and their hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 to 4:00.
